I am impressed with Dave. His commitment, diligence and perseverance is second to none. He has a way of dealing and engaging with my teenage son who is clearly benefitting from his input. Dave's knowledge and skills in teaching economics and make it interesting and relevant is obvious, and Dave puts a lot of effort and is passionate about the work he does. Dave helped my daughter with year 13 Economics. I was impressed with Dave's lesson plans, he takes his time to understand the individual students needs and then tailors his lesson accordingly. Dave tutored me for a number of months with A-level economics. He is clearly very knowledgeable in this subject which allows him to teach his students high level content which is required for those A/A* grades. He goes through topics in high detail ensuring that it is covered in full, rather than skimming through topics which unfortunately many teachers now do. His passion for Economics and learning in general shines through his work which creates a positive atmosphere in his sessions. Not only does he focus on the work you do with him but he also focuses on how you study in general and helps you to learn as effectively as possible. Dave is an outstanding tutor. My eldest son gained so much knowledge and confidence from his sessions with Dave. His grades improved quickly and his self belief followed. I used Dave to help both my sons with A level Economics and have no hesitation in recommending him. Dave is always very organised and efficient with his lesson time. His teaching is clear and the homework he gives is effective and well paced. Any communication in terms of booking sessions is prompt, his knowledge of different exam boards is current and his approach is positive and reassuring. For those of you that have searched through many tutors profiles for A Level Maths as I have done previously. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending Dave Bell. He takes the time to actively listen and fully understand the requirements of his students and tailor his approach accordingly. In the case of my son, Dave recalibrated much of his foundational understanding of Maths to build a solid base on which to build his detailed understanding of Hypothesis Testing, Trig Identities, Tension with a heavy focus on past papers to constantly identify and address potential gaps. As part of this process Dave not only reignited my sons interest in A Level Maths but most importantly rebuilt his confidence in the subject. Despite the unprecedented chaos of 2020 my son achieved a well deserved Grade A. This is a truly and outstanding achievement as my son’s prior performance in pre-mock examinations was C/D. My daughter's been working with Dave for a few weeks now, and I like his non-intrusive approach and very subtle way of both providing content as well as getting her to engage in the conversation - leading to learning by explaining. Dave is an excellent A level maths tutor whom I would highly recommend. Dave has been tutoring our 13 year old daughter, who is passionate about maths, for the past two years. They started with the fundamentals and have taken a building block approach to developing knowledge and techniques that underpin the GCSE syllabus with the intention to go through to A-Level. Dave was an outstanding A-Level Economics tutor for my daughter, helping her to secure a strong A grade. Incredibly knowledgeable and able to guide her to draw chains of reasoning that were vital to very strong answers for the high mark questions. He also helped her to develop a broader appreciation of Economics that will help her in her undergraduate studies going forward. He was an encouraging and engaging tutor who also supplied hand picked resources to address specific topics. He also marked any written work between sessions. Overall, my daughter found Dave a really valuable asset to her achieving her target grade with confidence.

Dave is a great tutor. When I first started with Dave I was working at an E grade and in less than 3 months I achieved a high B in my final A-level exams. I couldn't have asked for anything more from him.

David is a very well spoken, friendly and polite gentleman - A very good timekeeper who gets down to work straightaway, and has the ability to assess the problems faced very quickly. My son, who is studying for his AS and A level Mathematics, said that David's approach, returning to first principles if necessary, was absolutely excellent and made things that had seemed a little bit vague, become crystal clear. Overall, David's extremely professional attitude makes me confident that I would recommend his tuition unreservedly. Dave is a teacher's teacher. His enthusiasm for math and helping students understand math is infectious. My daughter is doing much better in her AP Stats class as a result of Dave's help. He is organized, punctual, and does an excellent job getting the concepts across.

He started tutoring my son in economics in his final year of A-Levels when we realised that a year of COVID disruption and college teaching, one week in class followed by one week via zoom, were failing his chances of good results. He soon took up tutoring my son in maths as well. He built my son's confidence and understanding in two complex and notoriously difficult A-Level subjects.
